We are a department with 56 faculty members and 20 research labs specializing in research ranging from Computational Biology and Medical Computing to Network Modelling and Computational Vision. Check them out!
We currently have 1,100 undergraduate and more than 200 graduate students. Our undergraduate students can take advantage of our co-operative work experience program that allows them to get gain valuable, career related paid work experience. Our graduate students have access to state-of-the-art research facilities, dedicated faculty, along with ample research and teaching opportunities. Our students also have opportunities to take part in the many events organized by the CS Student Society and the CS Grad Student Association.
Other opportunities for our students include access to international exchanges, conferences, scholarships and awards, as well as, many recreational & athletic possibilities on and off campus.
Computing Science is in the Faculty of Applied Sciences, with strong interdisciplinary ties with many departments at SFU, including Engineering, Mathematics, Biology, Geography, Criminology, Philosophy and Linguistics. The School is the recipient of the Ebco/Epic endowment that supports Visiting Research Chairs.
