The emphasis in this option is on Engineering and Physics fundamentals and their applications. Concepts and ideas, a strong academic foundation for advanced education, and opportunities for career growth, mobility and flexibility. The ENPH goals are to:

• Provide graduates with a sufficient background in both electronic engineering and physics that is compatible with the requirements of prospective employers, particularly in the areas of research and development where engineering and physics overlap
• Ensure that students are equipped with fundamental and applied knowledge relevant to engineering principles and practice
• Emphasize ideas and concepts
• Enable graduates to pursue graduate studies in either discipline. Our graduates have gone on to further studies at Stanford University, The University of Toronto, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and SFU

Typical careers are:

• Applied researcher
• R&D Engineer in the area of semi-conductor devices and opto-electronics
• Microelectronics engineer
• Technical support engineer
