This document describes proposed School of Resource and Environmental Management changes for the year 2001/2002 calendar.

1. Change of Prerequisites for REM 311-3

Current Prerequisites Proposed Prerequisites
Prerequisites: REM 100, EVSC 200, BISC 204 or GEOG 215, STAT 101 or equivalent.
Prerequisites: REM 100 or EVSC 200, BISC 204 or GEOG 215, STAT 101 or GEOG 251 or equivalent.

Rationale

This opens the course up to a broader range of students who are not currently environmental science or environmental studies majors.

GEOG 251 covers equivalent material to STAT 101 on basic hypothesis testing.

2. Change of Prerequisites for REM 412-3:

Current Prerequisites Proposed Prerequisites
Prerequisites: BISC 204, REM 100, EVSC 200, MATH 151 or 154 or 157, MATH 152 or 155, MATH 310, STAT 101 or 103 or 301.
Prerequisites: BISC 204, REM 100 or EVSC 200, MATH 151 or 154 or 157, MATH 152 or 155, STAT 101 or 103 or 301 or equivalent.

Rationale

Some Bioscience majors might wish to take this course but are unlikely to have both REM 100 and EVSC 200. This provides greater access for Bioscience students to take REM 412.
