RATIONALE:
As part of the changes to facilitate CCUPEKA accreditation, this course is moving to required status for Kinesiology Majors. In addition, the course content has been modified to reflect the requirement for it to be a more traditional Health/Exercise Psychology course. The course description and prerequisite changes are required to reflect this new status.

Course Description: This course examines the relationships among health, physical activity, and other health associated behaviors. Background information is provided concerning the influence of fitness on various disease states as well as the epidemiology of health and exercise behaviors. The course examines the theories and models of health behavior in the context of intervention and promotion strategies. |
Course Description: Relationships among health, physical activity, and other health-associated behaviours are examined. In addition, the theories and models of health behaviour, in the context of intervention and promotion strategies, are discussed. Pertinent background information is provided, concerning the influence of fitness on various disease states, as well as the epidemiology of health and exercise behaviours. |
Prerequisite: KIN 105, 140, 143; or KIN 205. Recommended: 60 credit hours. |
