Builds on basic communication, learning principles and social processes students have developed in their first term at university. Develops teamwork and professional communication skills, including the use of effective peer evaluation techniques, self-assessment strategies and presentation skills.

Course Description:
Teaches essential skills for negotiating first-year coursework successfully. Covers the principles, practice and understanding of effective communication, research, critical thinking and teamwork needed within both face-to-face and virtual environments. Presents opportunities to practice and develop communication and interpersonal skills, and make that expertise transferable from the classroom to the workplace.
RATIONALE
The course is being updated to reflect its new W status.
The course is integrating elements from the former TECH 100: Foundations of Teamwork and Communication I.
Instead of being a primary topic of the course, the learning portfolio will be integrated into the W exercises to evidence skill development.
