Description Change
From: Introduction to programming in the event-driven paradigm using the Visual Basic language. Forms, controls, events, menus, objects; subprograms, modular design; decisions and repetition; file and data management; special features.
To: Introduction to programming using the Visual Basic language. Topics will include user interfaces, objects, event-driven programming, program design, and file and data management.
Rationale: This is intended to simplify the description of the course and make it more readable for non-computing students (who are the audience for the course).
Does this course duplicate the content of a previously approved course to such an extent that students should not receive credit for both courses? If so, please specify.
The current exclusion statement should remain unchanged: "Students who have obtained credit for, or are currently enrolled in a computing science course at the 200 level or higher may not take CMPT 110 for further credit except with permission of the School of Computing Science."
